None of you guys got me beat. Jail for speeding. That is my tough guy points. I never have been to jail prior or after that.I was picked up by the secret service but that story is worty of it's own thread.

they pulled the crying woman defense...

Its amazing how well that works. My wife has gotten 3 tickets before, but she has been let off with about 4 warnings, 2 verbal and 2 written because of crying. Most of the times they should not have been warnings. I think each one she was doing at least 15mph over the speed limit if not more (and with tickets on her record already).

This was all before she met me. She has cleaned up since with no tickets. Though I have a sickening feeling it is just a matter of time (she drives with a bit of a lead foot, at least she doesn't speed to much any more, just 10-15 over).

Re: tickets--how many have you had?

0 tickets; 0 times pulled over; no points...in over 18 years of driving...knock on wood...

But all four of my sisters have been pulled over while driving one of my cars...two for rolling through a stop sign, one for speeding (can't remember the speed), one for running a red light...and none of them got a ticket...they pulled the crying woman defense...worked all four times...

Close calls:

1. I was doing about 70 in a 35 residential zone on my way to school...motorcycle cop going the other way flipped a U-turn after I passed him...lights flashing, he passes me (as I signal to pull over)...and nails the guy in front of me...

2. Driving with the flow of traffic through Santa Barbara, CA, going about 75 in a 55 zone (this was before the speed limit was raised to 65)...look in my rear-view mirror and see a patrol car with lights on behind me...I move over...and he passes me...guess he was jonsin' for a doughnut...

Alright, my ticket breakdown:

9 tickets before the age of 18. That right, 9 moving violation from age 17 to my 18th birthday.

I never paid a single ticket! They all went to collections and my credit was tortured.

Then about, 2 months after my 18th birthday, I got chased by a police helicopter when I was racing my friend on the street. I ran for about 15 minutes, then gave up when i saw the regular cops behind me.

I got a 3 page ticket, 11 violations, but the cops were cool and let me keep my car and drive it home that night

took it to court and had everything dropped besides wreckless driving.

Since then, i believe 4-5 moving violations and about 10 fix-it tickets. (ie: seatbelt, no front plate, exhaust, etc...)

In the past 3 years (which insurance cares about), i have had 2 moving violations. Neither were speediing. Both were illegal right turns!

Damn dude. Cali is a puss state. A lot of states (I'd have to check the MD DMV website to see if we do) will suspend your license for failure to pay a ticket after a period of time. Let alone 9 violations in basically a year I can't imagine any state not suspending or revoking your license.
