I saw the video replay of the newscast of this incident a couple of months ago. They showed the cop making 3-4 stops that day and acting calm and very professional, he even gave just warning citations to the offenders. He was driving an unmarked police car so the woman 1. didn't know for sure if he was a cop or a blue light bandit 2. had her flashers on trying to make it to the next closest town to stop. I feel that it was very inappropiate since she was driving slower than highway speeds with the cop behind her and she wasn't trying to flee the cop *at the same time i can understand why the cop was aggrevated but i don't excuse or condone his actions. The way he has the lady pulled over and the sequence of events that follows are VERY dangerous. i'm not sure but i thought they were suppose to do everything from the other side of the car. Not only did the cops aggressive behavior jeopardize his career but the way he arrested the woman in a lane of traffic also contributed to the fact he was fired. Cops like this should be in the military and using their aggressiveness in battle instead of citizens.

And now for an example of stupid cops

As a warning this video depicts someone shooting themselves in the head...wether its real or not is up for debate.

The biggest thing that perplexes me about that video is WHY he took a drink of water before shooting himself. If he knew he was going to put a gun to his head ten seconds later, why did he feel the need to refresh himself?

because at the time he wanted a drink, im sure he was not thinking " im killing myself why do i need to drink" plus maybe he really didnt want to die so wasnt thinking about it when he took that drink. but shit happens and it chnages.

Uhh, what? He hardly had time to smack the moisture off of his lips by the time he had pulled the gun out. Like he wasn't THINKING about it for at least a few minutes before hand...right. Anyway, as I said before, I just find it really odd that he wanted a refreshment just seconds before shooting himself.

It is not illegal to proceed to what you consider a safe location before pulling over. If a cop turned his lights on to pull you over and there was no shoulder you would certainly want to drive to where there is one (which could be several miles), just like if you don't feel safe because it is a very unpopulated area it would not be illegal to drive several miles to a more populated area.

Police lights don't mean, "Let's go to your friend's house." They mean STOP, NOW!.

Weirdest logic I've ever heard.

It was *8 miles* heh, watch your odometer some day and see how long that is.* This wasn't 1/4 mile until there was a safe shoulder or some other obvious problem.

I know exactly how long 8 miles is and 8 miles isn't that long when you live in the country like I do . You can go that long and longer without seeing a house, or another car or person. 8 miles is what maybe around 8-10 minutes of driving time if you slow down to 50 or 60 so no that's not that long 20 or more miles would have been long. but 8 miles is nothing.

8 miles at 60mph is 8 minutes of driving, yes quite awhile. In vermont it could easily be 20 miles before you are in a somewhat populated area. It would not be totally unresonable from her point of view to try to drive for awhile to find a more populated area and either finding it after 8 miles pulling over, or failing to find one after several minutes of driving pulling over (If I were actually going to look for a more populated area I wouldn't say drive on for an hour, if I could find one in a few minutes I would pull over and 'take my chances' if you want to call it that).
