Exterior Lighting only available in IE

Weird problem - since yesterday the "Exterior Lighting" section is only available in IE. With Firefox 3.6 and 3.6.8 on two different Windows7 systems and FF 3.6.8 OS X it just isn't there. Ditto for Safari and Camino on OS X. I've tried Firefox in Safe Mode but it makes no difference.

I've done all the basic troubleshooting at my end - checked DNS settings, restarted my router, disabled all extensions etc in various the affected browsers - but the problem persists.

Re: Exterior Lighting only available in IE

I see the exterior lighting board in both Firefox and Chrome...

Re: Exterior Lighting only available in IE - not solved but figured out

After a bunch of monkeying around I discovered the Exterior Lighting section appears only if I log in to the forums. My cookie settings in Firefox, Safari and Camino prevent automatic login. With IE cookies are not controllable in any practical way so I get logged in automatically as soon as I navigate to M3F. Hence the observed behaviour.

I still think it is weird that things only started working this way yesterday but the internet is a pretty random thing. At least I figured it out.

As a further curiosity, if I copy the link for Exterior Lighting while viewing it in IE and paste it into Firefox it redirects to the M3F login screen. So for whatever reason the whole section is not only invisible but locked down if I'm not logged in. But the forums were offline with the standard database error for a few hours on Sunday (I assume for back-ups other maintenance) so new weirdness is not surprising.

Re: Exterior Lighting only available in IE

We changed the permission set on Exterior Lighting (Mazda3) recently. That might have been an unintentional error. I changed a few things - let me know if it works now.

Re: Exterior Lighting only available in IE

Yep, Exterior Lighting is again visible/accessible without being logged in.
