Thread subscription notifications from other FMV sites

So I've noticed this annoying problem with threads I'm subscribed to that are shared among the different sites. My main board is M3F and if someone from fordfusionclub.com responds to the thread I get an email from fordfusionclub. If I visit using the included link in the email, then M3F does not "reset" that I've re-visited the thread and therefore I will no longer receive email notifications for subsequent posts in said thread.

Is there a way around this or am I doing it wrong?

addl info: I also can't respond since my m3f account apparently doesn't work at fordfusionclub.com etc. The only workaround is to edit the URL to replace fordfusionclub with mazda3forums and then reload the page.

Unfortunately I don't think there is a way around that.

I'm a programmer, you can't fool me with that line!

Why couldn't the email sending service be updated to send the URL out using the home domain of the person the email is going to rather than the domain of the most recent poster in the thread? That would fix it.

Or you could just copy and paste the link into your browser. Just change the fordfusionclub.com part to mazda3forums.com. Pretty simple

The URL past the domain is always the same.

Re: Thread subscription notifications from other FMV sites

^ That is precisely what I have been doing, and what I had to do just now so I could respond. I hardly call that a very acceptable solution to the problem though.

LOL, I'd call taking 2 extra seconds an "acceptable" solution.

Re: Thread subscription notifications from other FMV sites

Well, halo0 is correct, it should be fixed, in theory. But realistically, it isn't going to happen unless someone wants to volunteer to figure out how to fix it. We have no active programmers on staff currently.
