I have had this problem for a long time. This is the only site that ever runs slow for me, every other site loads fast. Dont know what it is about the forums but sometimes it locks up my computer.

Re: ad server/sponsors dragging site to a crawl

Really depends on the time of day. I've waited upwards of 30 seconds at time.

Either the server we're on or the database system behind our free forum software, would be my guess...

I've always had problems w/ this site but ever since the giant donate buttons came to the top of the page it's been even worse.

its horribly slow. worse than ever. when they first switched to the newest version of SMF the pages loaded slowly. now it feels like an eternity.

It's so bad I have cut my time on here in half, too damn annoying to wait all the time.

Slow as hell here too, but only the last few days when the new ad stuff came up. Painfully slow lol

Doubt it is an SMF problem, usually works pretty well.
