f/s section

now im sure you've had this brought up before but why dont we break up the f/s section? this is by far my fav forum site for mz3's but the one thing that everyone else seems to have on us is that they break up the f/s section. for instance, if i want rims i go to the rims section. it gets annoying searching 5 pages of crap. and yeah the whole search button idea cool, but some people call them rims, others call them wheels, etc. search is cool, but you could still miss your perfect pair of rims.

just figured id throw the idea out there. i dont think it would be all that hard to do... the only pain would be moving the crap already in the f.s. section into the categories but thats why you guys run the site, not me

thanks for entertaining the idea at least

thanks,
matt

Re: f/s section

I on the other hand love where everything is at now, I just check that section daily for new threads, does not take to long to find things. If F/S threads were scattered all over,to me that makes it harder to find stuff.

See we all think differently

Re: f/s section

I can see where you're coming from and believe me - this topic has been discussed before behind the scenes.

Now let's play devil's advocate - say we did split up FS items (i.e. wheels/rims in the wheel forum)....people would have to look all over the forum to find items for sale. By keeping all FS items in one area (well, how it's currently set up), people only have to check 2 areas to find items they want to purchase. It keeps the forum much cleaner and in a more tidy fashion.

It would also be tougher for the staff to keep the forum clean if FS threads were scattered all over the place.

Re: f/s section

It's a constant battle to decide what to split and what to not. I have someone mad at me right now because the regionals are too split up, and others that want them split more.

As far as F/S goes, one thing we did decide was logical a while ago was to get non-vehicle related stuff out of the vehicle-specific section.

Re: f/s section

If you get in the habit of just clicking the "unread posts since last visits" you'll get to see all new threads regardless of the forum they're in. That way you can scan through them and keep an eye out for key words like "rims" or "wheels". Doing things this way I rarely go into specific forums.
