Possible to allow wanteds but not for sale posts?

I am a new user. I just bought a 3 two weeks ago and love it. Being new to these forums but not forums in general I have been able to find my way around. I even used search (some newbies actually do search) to find out why I could not post a new topic in the for sale forum. My question is can it be made possible to post a wanted ad with fewer longevity requirements? I completely understand the reasoning behind not wanting people to sell items if they are an unknown and not wanting this to become a place simply for liquifying assets. However, with the car being new there are a few things that I would like to have for it -- things that others might have laying around. As a new user (and one who doesn't post much) I can not declare my desire for certain items.

As one example, I live in Wisconsin. Because of this I would like to get a set of wheels that I can use for snow tires for my new 3. As the tires are much cheaper in a 16" rim size I would like to find rims of that diameter. However, that does not tend to be an item which is highly posted. I am sure they are out there but as there is not much demand for them there is little desire to post them as a for sale item. If I posted that I was looking for a set I would wager that I would get some responses from people who have updated their cars.

While the 50 posts is not a huge amount, I doubt I will be hitting it anytime soon. I am sure I could add a bunch of useless crap in the lounge but I really see that as a waste of everyone's time -- my own as well as the forum readers. This car is new to me so I am not in any way qualified to add much to most conversations which occur in the forums at this point. I am however learning a lot. Because my car is an 08.5 I am also finding that a lot of the topics do not necessarily apply to me (for example my first post was about hacking the trip computer and if it works in an 08.5) and there is not all that much known yet about the 08.5's.

I will understand completely if the regulations are not changed; I just wanted to coherently and without whining, illustrate the situation that a new owner such as myself who is excited about their car can not post hoping to find accessories and additional parts for their car.

Re: Possible to allow wanteds but not for sale posts?

Unfortunately there is no way to differentiate WTB from FS when making a post so we can't unfortunately do much about that.

We realize 50 posts is not something easily attained when making worthwhile posts, but the FS section is a benefit of our contributing members and we'd like to keep it as such. So for now unfortunately we must leave it at 50posts.

Thank you for your concerns though. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
