Is there anyway to search for member by location?

Does anyone know if there is a way to search for members by location?
I think this would be a good networking tool for people that are traveling to meet up with other members or just to see if there is anyone out of all of the members that are around where you are.

If there isn't a way to currently do this, I think it would be a nice addition...just my

...that you know of...thats why it would be nice to be able to search...hell integrate what used car websites do and allow input of a zip code with members 25/50/75/100 miles away from your location or any location

At this time there isn't. I've been looking for somebody capable of developing such functionality, but have not found anyone yet.

Its just a DB lookup... seems easy enough to create. As long as you take that information in during registration, you would just need to search the field... of course everyone puts something different in their "location" field which isn't "required" either...

BUT if you were to add in a zipcode field, that people could input their data, you could build a query and throw it over on google maps probably, such as 30 mile radius of zip code 123456 and it would display members on the map...

If I get bored I'll play around with this Don't expect much though, I'm always super busy... I just happen to be stuck in Newark on a layover lol

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mod...x.php?mod=1010 - self user added... but this could work, otherwise for a quick fix, just add the location field as searchable in the member search, that would only be a few lines of code.
