Need Help...

My headlights low & high beam keep blowing out.

I checked the voltage in the battery with engine off it's 13.4, checked with engine running it's over 16 volts.

This started when I had the engine replaced.

Has anyone had this issue?

FYI, I bought the car used.

Thank you.

Probably best if you have the charging system professionally tested; personally I'd lean toward the battery.

16v is way too high. It shouldn't really exceed 14.4v with the engine running. It's most likely a bad voltage regulator which usually means that the alternator needs to be replaced.

Ok, replace alternator, what about the voltage regulator; replace it also?

Voltage regulator is typically part of the alternator.
