Hey all / empty socket question

Hey all, just thought Iíd introduce myself. Iím Erik, I have a Black 2009 Mazda 3 S 2.3L that Iíve owned since 2014. Iíve been a viewer of this site for some time and usually scrounge around when I need to find technical advice.

Anyways, since Iíve owned the car, Iíve noticed that there is an empty plug/socket right above the cooling fan on the radiator. Iíve tried to research this on my own for some time, and usually give up after a few hours of getting no where. Does anyone happen to know what this plug is for?
