Dad helping daughter

Hey everyone. 2012 GS-Sky model sold in Canada (not sure if it is different in US) that needs some work and time for Dad's garage versus the dealership on this one.

Battery is < 2 years old, dashboard was lit up and after charging battery battery icon is still on so I think it's alternator time.
Just re-searching steps involved (have some idea now), serpentine belts I've done before on other cars just never enjoy them.

Guy at general parts retailer asked me if it used a stretch belt which I've never heard of, pretty sure there is a tensioner here so N/A right?

On some engines, like the 2.3 in my 04, the A/C belt is indeed a stretch belt. That's in addition to the serpentine belt.

k thanks. I need to take a drive over there today and take a look under the hood I guess.
Maybe a bit off topic but for my research I'd be in the 2010-2013 forum? ie. those years use similar parts?

Yes I believe the 2004-2009 belt would not fit.

look up a video of the ziptie method
You can cut the old AC belt, replace the serpentine, then put a ziptie around the crank pulley and the belt, spinning the crank pulley by hand to get the belt to align

If you're doing the serpentine, replace the tensioner (and idler if you have one) pulleys at the same time.

Generally speaking, if you have a seperate stretch belt for the A/C, you won't have an idler pulley. But, if you have one single serpentine for everything, you will.
