New to Mazda

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum, and new to Mazda's. I'm in the process of purchasing a Mazda 3 to use as a secondary vehicle and a project car for me and my kids. My hope is to use this forum to get advice and insight on how to modify and enhance our (soon to be) new Mazda 3. I'm looking forward to the experience, and hope to have some good conversations with one and all. Thanks!

If you want fast or a track day car, get a Speed right out of the gate. There's so much more power to be had, right up front, for not much more money. There's really not a huge difference in price, either. On a first gen, like $1000 to $1500 extra, on a second gen, maybe $1500-2000 more for the Speed.

Thanks for the advice. Not sure if I will be doing any race day activities. For now, I'm just looking for a fun economical car to drive around the city. Maybe I'll do a little custom modding here and there with my kids for fun and education. We'll see how it goes. I've been looking at the Miatas for any potential raced day adventures but that's a ways down the road, I think. Maybe after my kids are all off to college and I need something new to occupy my time and mind.

Anyway, picking up the new 2010 Mazda 3 tomorrow and will post some pics when I get her home.

Yesterday, I brought home a beautiful Celestial Blue Mica 2010 Mazda 3 s Grand Touring sedan. I was very pleased with the price I paid, and had a wonderful time driving the car from San Francisco to my home town in Aptos, CA. Posting a picture in my 'Garage' here on the Mazda 3 Forums. I'll make that viewable for all to see (if I can figure out how). Also, I've been thinking about doing a YouTube series on the car as I get it detailed, tuned and modified over time. I'll post a link here (unless there is a more appropriate place) once I have that going.
