Thumbs up New 06 3 hatchback owner.

Hi, I'm Dan from the PNW. We just bought a nice 06 hatchback the other day and have been searching the forums ever since.

So far, the plan is HID and LED everything, black out the rims, independent fog light mod.

Have already installed double din Kenwood deck (DMX7704s), and will install the rearview camera this weekend.

I look forward to helping others as I can, and receiving help as I need. Thanks!

There are only two *correct* ways to do an HID conversion: find a donor car that has the OEM setup, or go to GTARetrofits.com and replace your stock projectors for ones designed for HID.

For the LED taillights, again, same donor you got your OEM HID's from, or search eBay for a set. Those usually aren't cheap, either.

Let us know which brand (OEM or aftermarket) for the HID and the fog lights. My daughter's '07 could use the same upgrades since she has a base model 3i.

Well, we'll see how it goes, but I ordered lights through DDM. They used to have a good track record, but I'm seeing now that things have apparently changed. I wanted to go with GTR lighting, but just didn't have the funds right now. If the DDM stuff is lackluster, I'll probably change over to GTR as items fail. (Whoops, should have checked on current reviews first) LOL.

Ours has the factory fog lights, I'll see how the LED bulbs do to get light out. If they don't put a lot out, I'll probably convert to a couple of LED pod lights or a short light bar at the lower grill opening.

Definitely been wanting to get some photos. Weather, timing, and life in general have gotten in the way so far though. Ugh.

I've been chasing rally cars around the PNW since I was 3. My earliest memories are actually from the old Olympus rally when it was a WRC event and group B cars were running. We've got Tour de Forest rally running this weekend actually, so we'll be out in the woods working it all weekend.

This is the "just bought" photo of the car, for the wife. Nothing fancy. Hope it holds you over till I can get something better.

Dude.... I know there will be some modding madness in the future for your Mazda. So ya I can watch what you will be doing!
