My new 2015 Mazda 3 awful engine tick...

Firstly, Hi! I've always been a Nissan guy, I currently own a 91' 300zx Twin Turbo, but I needed a daily driver so I bought myself a 2015 Mazda 3 two days ago. I am mechanically inclined and I figured this car would be the perfect car to work on in the future when it comes to cost and simplicity. The first 149 km were great, but afterwards not so much....

I was actually on my way to pick up a friend who works at the Mazda where I bought it from and as I turned into the dealership I hear this insane ticking noise coming from the engine. At first I turn the volume off and roll the window down to make sure it isn't the car next to me, but sure enough it's coming from my brand spanking new motor. I pull in and my friend comes out(roughly 20 yards away), and his face when he opens the door was . I instantly check the oil and that turned out fine

For those who know what a BAD lifter tick sounds like, it sounded like that. I left it there today and took a loaner, but if it needs any sort of engine work which I do believe it will, I will be asking for a new car. Unfortunately it won't get looked at until Tuesday due to the long weekend here in BC. Other than that it's a pretty good car lol!
