2012 Fusion Sport - New to Me

I've had my Fusion Sport for 2 weeks now and pretty much love everything about the car. I test drove a new sport back in 2010 and had my sights set on getting one for 5 years. The wait is over and I can't find enough excuses to take it for a drive. 2 items I have noticed that I'm caulking up to the model are:
- The steering feels heavy. This is my first FWD car with a big 6, so I just need to get use to it.
- Noticeable trans shifting. The 6-speed really lets you know when finding a new gear.

Minor things to be sure, but wanted to know if others have the same feedback or I need to get something checked out.

The trans should "learn" how you drive and when to shift etc. I meet had a problem.

I love the steering feel of my Sport but I did come from a V6 FWD Cougar so it wasn't that big of a change.

Welcome!

Do you have any plans for it?

Welcome.

Steering is good for me. Not too heavy, and similar to my 06 Milan's steering. On the other note, my 03 B6 A4 had the best steering feel of any of my vehicles.

The gear ratios are pretty good in my opinion, but the transition into 2nd gear is definitely the most noticeable under moderate acceleration. The select shift could be more refined, too. Hell, what we really need is a 6 speed standard trans.

Yeah I agree, I wish it was either a dual clutch auto or a true manual.

I notice on pre 13 mkz they also had a kinda heavy steering but i think its from them still being hydraulic power steering vs electric steering in the 2.5.
