MZ3 guy upgrading from a P5! not 56k friendly ;)

Hey all, new to the site. Made my way over from mazdas247;

I Was on the lookout for a Speed6 initially but gave up not finding one with the options i wanted. I stumbled on this gem of a mz3 yesterday and was so impressed with he test drive, that i picked it up that day.

The speed6 will happen one day, let that be a 2016 model (fingers crossed) or a unabused 07 model. Whichever comes first!

Anyways.. Started my Mazda journey with a very stock Protege5 and after 5 years of abuse the thing has never let me down, but the little things were getting to me. The rattle from the hatch that i could never really get rid of, bubbling rust on the wheel arches, and the love/hate i had for the coilover setup

Anyways, im proud to say i did every mod myself and in my taste. But lets get onto the mod list and some pictures.

Appearance:

Midnight Blue Mica
4300k HID Kit Low Beams
3000k HID Fogs

Tinted bumper signal lights
Plastidip'd Front grill/lower rear valance/hatch lock trim/hatch spoiler
20% Tint on rear windows

Foose Speed 17x7 Plastidipped Black W/ Red Lip Stripe
Hankook Ventus V12's 205/50/ZR17

Stock P5 Front Strut Brace
Rear MX6 Strut Brace
Stock Front Sway Bar
Progress 22mm Rear Sway Bar

Mazda6 Front Brakes
Mazda 626 Rear Brakes

OBX 4-1 Header
Mazda 626 Oil Filter

Alpine Type S 6.5" Rears
1.5 Fared Capacitor

When i first bought her

to how she sits now:

It came to a point where my Bosses son became interested in purchasing his first car, specifically mine. It started the momentum for me to start looking for something else. Which sucks. I have a whole turbo kit from a MSP sitting right beside me to make the P5 a nice little grocery getter. But do to flying in and outta the Provence for work, its giving me no time to finish the car how i always wanted it.

But Onto the MZ3! You could definitely say i bought the exact same car haha!

2005 Mazda3 2.3 Sport Hatchback
Indigo Blue (correct me if im wrong)
133000kms
5spd
Leather
Stock besides the rotors that i could see during my inspection

There are a lack of photos so bear with me. These are the only ones i could snap off before driving "Christina" home

Things to do ASAP:
1: Remove Axela and Mazda3 Badge and scrape off the k&n sticker
2: Tint
3: Paint both mazda emblems black
4: Paint spoiler black
5: Paint foglamp bezels black
6: Piaa Wipers (purchased)
7: Short Shift w/ weighted knob (purchased)

As for everything else (you know what i mean), judging from how i modded the P5; Im sure you can fill in the blanks But there is a long list of mods that ill be taking plenty of pictures of and maybe a couple diy threads!

What do you guys think? any suggestions?

- Chris

Looks good and welcome!

Looking at your P5 I don't think you will have any problems in the modding department lol.
