Hi Guys,

Brought home a 2015 Mazda 3 I sport manual for Xmas & totally loving it.
390miles so far in past 5days and seeing 40-45mpg, Cant complain. Yes am babying it since breaking in.

Anything which I should be mindful when breaking-in?
1) Stay below 2500rpm.
2) Warm-up the engine before driving.
3) Don't sit on one particular rpm for longer periods, but constantly vary it.

-My other cars -
2010 Merc C300 v6
2012 Audi A6 v6

Thanks.
Sherry

Welcome!

I think there are a million different opinions on breaking in a car, and some say its not even necessary anymore. Everything you said is fine.

The only other thing I do usually is this (and probably not needed due to new technologies): Change the oil at 100 miles, and change it again at 1000 or 1500 miles to take care of any worn off metal from the new engine. I usually use regular oil the first 2 times, then switch over to my preferred synthetic blend.

Hope you enjoy your new 3!

Thanks Guys.
Mods planned - None for the first 5k miles, probably new rims after that.
Check out my album for the pics. Its in "Soul red"

Breaking-in - I am going to change the oil at 2k miles and then for the recommended 5k. Thanks for your thoughts.
