New Guy

Hey! I'm Matt,

I just picked up a 2011 Fusion Sport with 9k on the ticker. FWD not AWD. (got it for the fuel mileage)

1st thing, man has Ford come a long ways.. I use to never want to look at one but this things nice! I love how it doesn't feel cheap on the inside like chebbys do, the dash is a nice padded material not thin plastic crap. My only complaint is the blue tooth system seems to do its own thing from time to time.

I just got out of an 07 Dodge Quad cab, long bed with the 6.7ctd so its quite a change of scenery all around . As much as I miss the obnoxious nature of that beast its a quite nice feeling to get some where and not feel beat up.

Oh. I forgot about fuel prices.. $120 a week vs $40 a week, makes my life easier.

I use to be a mechanic so some of this junk comes easy to me, I'll voice my opinion when I can.

My only question right now is, is there a constant, or keyed hot power source in the trunk? I want to mount a flashlight charger back there.

congrats. im looking to do the opposite switch in a few months. id like to get my hands on a 07 5.9 CTD. surprisingly enough, my dads 04.5 isnt much harder on fuel then my car, diesel is just quite a bit more then regular gas around here.

Good luck! I couldn't find one, hence the 6.7. The 6.7 was a badass motor once I got the emission stuff off it, but now its getting pretty hard to find an offroad tuner since the EPA cracked down recently.

The guy said, "are you interested in the extended warranty program?"

"if you knew me you would know I probably won't own this car past the expiration of the factory warranty."

I loved that truck, it had some coming issues I didn't have time to deal with though.. i.e. rear main leak, a/c work, fun stuff.

And you're right, its not THAT much better but the price of fuel makes a huge difference.. I'm slightly annoyed though, sold the truck a week and a half ago, diesel was near $3.80, today its down at $3.50. I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited for diesel prices to come down.. now after its gone they come down.

The main reason for selling is I started the fire academy which is an extra 150 miles a week so that was going to add up quick on a fuel bill i was barely affording as it was. Once I'm out of the academy and get a job I'll see how I like the car but I'm willing to bet I'll be back in a truck.

Not sure, no major plans, if I had AWD I would be more likely to mod it.. After having the truck straight piped, then stack with straight pipe, then stack with muffler, then 5" with muffler out the back again......................
I'm enjoying the peace and quite for now.
I would like to do some small stuff, I've always modified everything I owned. Maybe wheels when it comes time. I've been thinking about a shock tower brace and rear sway bar, maybe that Steeda rear engine mount(?).

I've read mixed reviews about the shock tower brace, mixed reviews about the rear sway bar (which one does more)... I know I bought a FWD car but I want to make the most of it.
