looking to buy-need advice

Hello everyone,
I am looking to buy a fusion look and am seeking some advice.

a. Looking to buy 2012 fusion sel (wife wants heated leather seats).

b. Buying used-most have between 20-30k miles. I'm assuming the basic warranty is good until 36k. Would you recommend certified or buying an extended warranty?

c. I've been reading about issues with the 6 speed automatics on the se/sel models. What should I be aware of....this is going to be a 2012 model.

d. dont know much about sync....I would like to get navigation, but not a must have. Any thoughts here are appreciated.

e. Anything else to look out for.

thanks in advance

a. Looking to buy 2012 fusion sel (wife wants heated leather seats). only comes in sel level trim

b. Buying used-most have between 20-30k miles. I'm assuming the basic warranty is good until 36k. Would you recommend certified or buying an extended warranty? get a certified pre owned (5yr/100k) with tire warranty it pays for itself with one flat!! Both my brother and law and I have it and between the both of us have had 7 tires replaced and one rim free of charge.

c. I've been reading about issues with the 6 speed automatics on the se/sel models. What should I be aware of....this is going to be a 2012 model. I think it is a 4cyl issue I haven't heard of it in the v6. recommend the v6 anyway.

d. dont know much about sync....I would like to get navigation, but not a must have. Any thoughts here are appreciated. Both are great once you use sync you wont ever go back.

e. Anything else to look out for. Make sure its not a "fleet vehicle". (rental car)

a) Ok
b) 3/36 bumper-to-bumper, 5/60 powertrain if I recall correctly. If I get the option to extend my warranty for a reasonable price, I probably will
c) I think the problem was more on the 2006-2009 models with Aisin transmissions, specifically the valve body. Some 2010+s have issues though, which is true of pretty much any car.
d) Get Sync.
e) Homelink garage door opener is nice. Dunno if it was available on 2012s, I junkyard-swapped a set of visors out of a 2010 for mine.

06 09 models didnt have the AISIN trans. The 10 11 and 12 sports have the AISIN trans and are very reliable. They only did that trans in the 3.5...

O.P.
Ever look into a Sport model? You can get them cheap...

Mods... Steeda Intake, Steeda 93-100 octane tune, Steeda Springs, Steeda STB, Steeda Hood Struts, Steeda Motor Mount, Steeda TB Spacer, Whiteline rear swaybar, 19x8.5 Mustang GT wheels, Magnaflow catback, Upper and lower 6,00k HID's, and much more...

While it's a moot point since he's looking at a 2012... I disagree, the 3.0's also had an Aisin transmission in 06-09.

Secondary proof, TF80 lists Mercury Milan as an application, which never had a 3.5
