New here

Hi, I am new to this forum, although I've read a bit of it over the years. I have owned my Mazda3 for a few years now. Bought it used after a red-light-runner totalled my Integra. I really miss my Integra.

I chose the Mazda3 because it was fun ride. I drive about 50 miles/day, 95% of that on highways, and pretty much hate it. So having a fun car to drive helps, and I get pretty good mileage on my 5-door automatic 4-speed.

Unfortunately, I've had several problems with this car that make me really miss being a Honda owner. I've had to replace all of the motor mounts. I've had to replace the entire sunroof (that was not cheap). The switch on the driver's door for one of the rear windows failed a couple of years ago and I haven't replaced it. I've got brake shimmy that I've managed pretty well with but haven't ever completely eliminated (new tires, new brakes, aligned wheels, etc.).

Anyway, I'll leave my other comments and questions for the forums. I'm glad to have a place like this.

Welcome! What year is your 3? Sounds like you have quite a few problems with it.... which sucks, but in general they're not only a lot of fun to drive but also very reliable.
The rear motor mount almost always fails, but that is a cheap and easy to replace item. Only other major issue they have is rust :P

My 3 is a 2005. I don't have any [terrible] rust problems. There's no snow here and no salted roads. I do have some paint chips from road debris that have rusted a bit - way back in my 20s I carried paint around to nurse these kinds of chips, but not anymore, LOL.
