Hello Mazda 3 world

Hello everyone.

I have been an owner of a 2006 Mazda 3 since it was new. I am having electrical issues with it and have found the exact problem description within this site along with many other instances across the internet (Mazda only recalls the 2007-2009 models for this problem).

I will direct my questions and input there. Thanks, and if you have any idea what causes power steering to intermittently drop while the car is moving, along with dim headlights, constantly restarting console, clock wont keep time all while battery and alternator voltages are normal, please help me figure this out!

Thanks!

Maybe the belt is worn and the alternator isn't charging the battery at times. Probably have an original belt, due to be changed.

Now the dash is completely off when the car is running and lights are on. Would this happen even if the alternator was completely dysfunctional? Also, my battery is staying charged.

Okay, I just took it in to have them look at the alternator. I did look at the belt and it seemed okay. I went and tried to start it this morning and nothing doing. On jumping it I remeasured all the voltages and now everything is consistent with a bad alternator.
