Take your car for a drive!!

Well this was a couple days ago but I thought it was a good post. It is a double post I guess (which I usually get annoyed with) but I thought it was important in a way. Let me explain..

We make lots of threads and posts of problems, and mods and problems of mods/mod issues but we don't make a lot of posts about what our cars are made for. Driving. We do mods because we like to change things or make them better and we chose our cars all for one thing. That's driving. That's why we bought our cars and we modify them to put a bigger smile on our face when we drive them. That is why I figured to re-post this and why I bumped the "driving roads thread". Us car guys all have one thing in common and that's the enjoyment of cars, driving, and the sights, sounds, smells and feeling we get doing it.

Maybe this is a bit long and drawn out and maybe it's the 6 beers talking but damn, I think it's good to post "hey I went for a drive today, to go no where and look where it got me!" Post up some iphone pics, share your story/experience and the things we like.

It's been a while since I've gone for a little night drive away from traffic and all the rest. I haven't done it for a while and I wish I didn't stop going for drives. But a couple nights ago (when I was sober lol) I hit some nice twisty roads around our town and pulled into a parking lot that overlooks the city to snap a few pics with my iPhone 4s before I went home. I gotta say it was a blast. I turned the radio off and listened to the engine and exhaust note, felt the leather around the steering wheel and the feel of the car going around the corners and I accelerate out.

I gotta say it was nice to feel the body lean and tires start screaming as the got tortured around a few bends. It makes you connect with your car and appreciate it, helps grow that special mechanical bond between person and machine.

Here are the pics I took just before heading home as the engine ticked itself satisfied.

Remember guys and gals! Take your car for a meaningless drive on you favorite roads. It's stress relieving and a blast! Especially when you go a bit later with no traffic and no worries. Take your car and do what it was designed to do, drive and put a damn smile on your face. Sure many look at Fusions/Milan's/Mazda/MKZ/Zepher or whatever as A to B cars but really what's the joy of driving in traffic, getting fucking groceries, running annoying errands down busy streets. If you haven't done it yet I highly reccomend it!

Take a load off and enjoy your cars.

Come August, I will be taking the Fusion out to the Rocky Mountains. Should be a blast.
