Goal
Turn the heated seats on and rear window defrost when using the remote start. The factory kit does not have an auxillary output, so we need to use an Arduino to determine if the remote start was used.

Acronyms used in this thread
DETC: Digital Electric Temperature Control -- Ford's name for the climate control system
HS: Heated Seats

Known Issues
The indicator LEDs on the DETC will not illuminate when the Arduino triggers the circuits
You will lose control of your HS button until the car is restarted. The seat will remain on HIGH regardless of what you press. I should look into if I can turn the seats off and pass control back to the DETC.

Materials
ATmega328P (Arduino clone).
Relay Shield for Arduino. We're controlling two functions, so I picked the two-relay.
25-pin DSUB connector, male and female
Resistor assortment. We specifically need two 10K ohm and two 15K ohm, but Radioshack does not sell the 15K separate in-store.
Various wire, crimps, whathaveyou.
Optionally, two LEDs for indicators
Optionally, a project box to enclose it all

I chose the 'counterfeit' Arduino instead of an official Arduino for a few reasons
1) I didn't know these were unofficial.
2) They're cheaper than the official but fit our needs.
3) They run the script immediately. From my understanding, an official Arduino will wait 2-3 seconds to see if you're about to upload a new program. We don't have those 2-3 seconds to spare and I didn't want to learn how to change that delay.
