Well if your using motorcraft oil filters there is no plastic. But this is a good thing to remember when you do use a filter with plastic covering.

Nothing really new here.
In the oil filter, the oil flows thru the perimeter holes, thru the filtering media to the center of the filter.
From the center of the filter the oil flows into the engine.

Anything that falls into the center of the oil filter is going into the engine.

This is why some guys will never pre-fill a vertical mounted oil filter.
That oil will flow directly into the engine.
If anything is in that oil, or falls into that oil, (lid or plastic bits) from the jug you are pouring the oil from, it's going straight into the engine unfiltered.

Which is why I freaking hate that of all options, companies use those stupid METAL seals over their plastic containers, that NEVER work as planned, and shred to bits.

Surprised there has never been a lawsuit over them.
