Isis thoughts

What are your thoughts on the recent announcement of war with Isis?

I've personally taken my safety measures up a notch. Their threats seem bold and forward. I think we may be in for some local attacks..

I think our current administration isn't taking the threat seriously enough....kinda like I think they don't take a LOT of things seriously enough. I'm playing devil's advocate and predicting that our government will sit around and pontificate, initiate some half hearted attempt to combat them on foreign soil that will blow up in our faces, react poorly to an attack on our soil, and in general this country will not be a safe place until someone gets it through their thick skull that the ONLY proper way to deal with a threat declaring war upon your country is to enthusiastically and viciously kill every last one of them.

But, what would I know about war/combat/protecting the country? I'm sure a career politician knows more about waging war than a combat veteran. Sarc

lol at the notion that our country won't be a safe place because of an external threat...it hasn't been a safe place for quite awhile now regardless of activity outside our borders

To those who will inevitably want to argue with Alec that it is ISIS, its actually both ISIS and ISIL.
ISIS=Islamic State in Iraq and Syria
ISIL=Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant

Both are the same thing, its just like half of the world called it UBL (Usama Bin Laden) and the other half called it OBL (Osama Bin Laden). If falls down to various translations.

Isis thoughts

Ebola= threat to the nation , each state and inhabitant .... Isis = potential foreign and economic challenge = a movement which potentially and eventually could stabilize a region with a very unfriendly and obviously effective regime who would control large oil production capabilities

The first has been underplayed and the second I really don't know however I suspect it will be used to further justify our eroding rights as citizens ..... A people willing to give up their fredoms for security and safety deserve neither

No argument the ebola outbreak is serious and merits a world response, but a group that publicly advocates (and commits) acts of violence upon American citizens needs to be dealt with the same way you deal with a rapid dog; put it out of it's misery before someone gets hurt. My issue is that our current administration refuses to commit troops to the region, rather wanting to arm a marginally trained force of Syrians who will probably use those same weapons against us in the future if they don't just hand them over to ISIS. This of course is the administration's preferred course of action because they desperately don't want to admit how asinine it was for them to gut the military (fund, retention, pink slips for officers, ect.) when it's quite apparent that they are instrumental for national defense.

And then the border, don't even get me started on that massive cockup. Every other country in the world naturally controlls it's border and monitors people's movements to guard against unchecked immigration/influx of foreign nationals into their country. We sit around and debate about enforcing our laws because they're so obviously racist and discriminatory. I love my country to death, but it has it's head wedged up it's collective ass.

It took the British over 50 years , a world war and a dictator to get out of the region which they could barely control and sapped resource .... If we go back in we will probably never get out again ... Be seen as the enemy by everyone and gain little advantage or security for its or US citizens .... The area is to big to dominate with a small force and it's to costly to put the force required into place ( who would be constantly on the defensive + this type of deployment kills a fighting force = sit still guys do nothing get killed and sit still ) .... Unfortunately that's the reality ....

The propaganda ruminating from Isis is expert ... "U will not be safe even in ur bedroom" ! Come on seriously it's all bravado and media grabbing tis all .... It's very very clever ... They seem big even though the are very small

Ebola .... Is the number one issue from the perspective of what is the potential outcome if this goes mainstream .... Seriously only a handful of nations could threaten the US in the same way EBola does and even then ..... There is no effective / proven treatment ... A kill rate of 50% and a requirement for massive amounts of medical resource to combat ( which will more than like not be donated by the medical profession or paid for by the insurance companies = it would bankrupt everyone )
