Set cruise to 68 mpg. That way, it'll cut down on you having to accelerate to pass others. Yes, some people will inevitably get pissy with you, but screw'em most factory speedos are off by 1-2 mph anyway. Based on GPS, mine's 1mph low at 70mph.

Also, make sure your tires are pumped up the the proper COLD pressure as listed on the door tag.

2007 Phantom Purple hatch; JBR RMM/busihgs/shifter plate, Koni STR.t's, Michelin Pilot AS3's, Spin on oil filter conversion, stubby antenna, Kenwood KDC-X997 hu + Sundown Audio SA12 + Infinity speakers + JL 320.4 amp, debadged and door edge guards removed, Lamin-X + indy fog mod, aluminum AC knobs, DIY SRI, TRS 5000K HIDs, more coming.

^I'm not sure what he's talking about. The faster the highway speeds the higher the rpm which in turn is more power being generated. In turn - that means less need to downshift to seek extra passing power while cruising. Unless our cars are backwards and pump out max hp from 500rpm and decrease at lower speeds...

Further more don't worry about squeezing as much mpg as you can. Enjoy the power comfort and view. No need to focus on pennies per gallon. If you do then get a bus pass and ditch the car payment. For reference at 71 or 72 mph I average 33 mpg in my V6 fusion.

Anywho enjoy the trip! I love road trips. I usually take at least one a year. So much out there. And the history out east is top notch!!

How was the trip?

We just drove the Sport back today from the airport about 200miles one way to fly out to Vegas!

Vegas was a blast and it was nice to go for a little drive to get bak home.

Now I need to give the car a bath big time, ended up getting about 24mpg but my average speed was about 80-110mph. So much fun!

We did another trip in the mountains about a week ago, it was about a 4 hour drive on some nice twisty roads. Can't wait to get some suspension goodies done!

The trip went well. Car ran great got good mileage about 34mpg overall at about 70mph avg. That includes 1 to 11/2 hour traffic jams in and out of Cleveland area.
Car was comfortable and the tunes sounded really good. Best part was the $3.29 a gallon gas in Ohio. I paid $3.75 when i left home in NY.

Right on!

I ended up following about a 1/4mile behind a STi yesterday that was going about 90-110mph. I'm usually going 5mph-ish over the limit.
