Grrr - our 3 continues to piss me off

So our 2007 Mazda3 s sedan has 116k miles on it. I've already replaced a lot of stuff. From VCG to a/c compressor, front shocks to engine mount. The good news is that the engine and transmission are fine (I think). We've got some bent rims (no fault of the cars) to replace because we can't balance the wobble out of them. I am in the process of replacing the front stabilizer links (the rubber split on bottom ends), and now the a/c compressor is sounding awful. When the a/c is on, and I rev the engine, there is a wail from the front end of the car. It goes away quickly, but it sounds like worn bearings catching up to the speed of the belts. I think it's the a/c compressor clutch, but not certain. We also have a coolant leak that I can't track down.

I think it's time for a new car, but the wife loves her 3. I could spend $2k on it tomorrow, and it will be okay (I think), but I really don't want to. That includes new shocks in the back and doing the work myself.

sorry for rant. I'm just pissed at this car - it's one thing after another.

Well... at 120k that is the right time for the passenger motor mount to die (again), along with the rear and transmission if they haven't died yet, and for being 7 years old, you can bet some rubber is starting to show some serious wear.

Shocks typically also die every 60k as well, so no surprise there.

The only "issue" I see here is the A/C, which if you cheap out on (which... most people do), will always come back to bite you in the butt.

Besides the A/C, EVERYTHING you listed is 100% normal. Does it suck? Absolutely, but it's nothing out of the ordinary.
