Malaysian airlines

So I've noticed from the thread that some of the people on here are in some way involved in aeronautics. Even if you aren't, I'm curious as to what everyone's opinion is about the Malaysian flight that's missing? Anyone have some crazy theories out there?

I discussed it with someone from an aeronautic background cause I have several in my family

But 2 weeks ago the craziest thing I read was that it was hijacked and will be used for a future terrorist attack.

Something about India shutting its radar

I didn't really care enough to research it tho.

One person jokingly said that it was flown to North Korea

I don't understand how we can let something like that happen.

I don't have much to say, but semi related to the subject, I think a good thing will come of this (yes, I know this sounds horrible but hold up real quick). This should finally give a good push to updating the blackbox system out if its 1970s phase and into the current generation.

What I don't understand is with so many GPS' tracking stuff these days, how can this seriously happen?

My theory is that yes the plane did go down and no there were no survivors, there's just no other way, someone.. somewhere would have known and it would have been made known by now.

It's a crazy stupid sad story, and what angers me is precisely that no one can truthfully say these people are dead / alive, and no one can prove anything.. because no one knows.
With all the stuff on planes and tracking devices even we as people carry... annoys me that there isn't a single trace.

The problem is a couple of issues compounding. For the record, prior to my current profession, I worked in the aviation industry (military, private, commercial) for close to ten years.

While the FAA has historically been very keen on safety, other countries ARE NOT. Furthermore, the international aviation safety bodies lack authority to impose serious reforms upon individual countries. They can make recomendations, but can't really force much.

The big issue here is that the aircraft was in international airspace, which is understandable more difficult to enforce and monitor. We each dependon the nearest country to keep everyone else informed of what happened in their neighboring airspace, and most other countries do not have the technology or manpower we do to watch our nearby airspace.

Statistically, 95% of aviation incidents come back to pilot error. If this were a terrorist incident, I'd imagine someone would have taken credit for it by now. If it were a highjacking, it's phenominally difficult to hide an aircraft that size without someone noticing. I think it went into the ocean, either mechanical issue/pilot error/or a combination of the two.

2007 Phantom Purple hatch; JBR RMM/busihgs/shifter plate, Koni STR.t's, Michelin Pilot AS3's, Spin on oil filter conversion, stubby antenna, Kenwood KDC-X997 hu + Sundown Audio SA12 + Infinity speakers + JL 320.4 amp, debadged and door edge guards removed, Lamin-X + indy fog mod, aluminum AC knobs, DIY SRI, TRS 5000K HIDs, more coming.

I agree completely. With all the satellites and gps's and all the technology, we lose a giant, multimillion dollar plane in the middle of the ocean. I feel like more people had to be involved then just those ON the plane

Yea I heard something about images being seen on a satellite in the Indian Ocean, but upon arrival, there was inclement weather and the tangible evidence was never recovered.
