Mitsubishi Motors is but one small piece of a huge industrial conglomerate. They won't go bankrupt. They may, however, pull out of the North American market.

Besides where I live is full of newer model lancers and eclipses.

I do think they need to change their current tactics in NA

Sorry I should have been specific. I meant the automotive division I know they have several dozen other divisions that make everything from tv's to large machinery.

I just don't understand how they can axe half of their production without a replacement even under consideration. In regards to a car company. Every Mitsubishi I have owned was a pos!!! (2 Eclipses 1st/2nd gen and a Diamante)

well.............. the drive trains ran forever the problem was stupid stuff like every time i hit a hard bump in the 2nd gen eclipse. some piece of the plastic would come loose and rattle or fall off. The first one was purchased pos (me being a teenager wanting a sports car) and the diamante was just the notorious heater core issue. 8 hrs of dismantling the car to get the heater core out. you had to remove the front seats and the entire dash to get to it. it happened 3 times. The seal between the heater core and where it attached thru the fire wall would fail. stupid design!!!! but the sweet smell of maple syrup gets nauseating after awhile. It would not gush out just a slowwwwwww leak. drip drip drip.

Lol i didn't realize they were that bad... the lancers seem pretty nice though, and come with a good warranty (better than mazda at least)
