First attempt at Sig Pic in photoshop.

How did I do?

Never worked with Photoshop before. So, I downloaded the trial version to try doing a sig I really need to play around with it some more and figure out how to work with it.

Feel free to show me some suggestions, and advice on how to make it better.

For never having used PS before, i suppose its ok, but there is definitely a lot of room for improvement. The two images don't really go together with the smokey background. I'm not a graphical designer but the hard edges don't look good with the smoke, at least how its currently laid out. Maybe scrap the smoke, keep the wheel pic and make the car pic bigger and integrate your name into one of the two? or overlay the smoke in front of the other two pics and get rid of the hard edges.

With that said, I'm totally useless with photoshop, I think it is the least intuitive graphical software suite ever. I guess its pretty powerful and that's why everyone uses it, but I have been using Paintshop Pro 7 for the last 12 years, and I think that the controls make a lot more sense and I always found it much easier to use. Interestingly enough, that is the same software that has come preinstalled on my work computer at every job i've ever had as well.

Thanks for the suggestions! You aren't joking about photoshop being the least intuitive. I may try some other programs.

This is the first time I've ever worked with this type of software ever. So, I'm just going to play around some more and try different things.

Glad to see I'm not the only one! I still use Photoshop once in a while, but PaintShop Pro 7 has always been one of the first programs installed on every PC I've built for the last 12 years.

First critique that comes to mind is that it's way too big. Sig images should be about 100px tall at most. That thing is just obnoxious.

This, and I'm not a huge fan of the editing tools used. It does your car's color a major disservice.

This. It was so obnoxious, I've since removed it. Resize it to the appropriate size (the rules for signature sizes are listed in the User CP) and repost.
