***SPOILERS* The Dark Knight Rises discussion thread *SPOILERS***

There will be spoilers in this thread, if you haven't seen TDKR stop reading now.

This is just a thread for anyone who wants to talk about the movie. Did you love it? Did you hate it? Why?

I personally loved the movie. I thought it was a perfect ending to the trilogy. That's not to say that I thought the movie itself was perfect, but it was really fucking good. I heard a few murmurs about negative reviews before I saw it but I really tried to limit my exposure to the point of not even watching all the TV spots and trailers that were released. I hate being exposed to so much of the movie by that crap before I sit down to watch it. I have minor quibbles about the plot and a few things here and there but all in all it was brilliant. A fitting end to the best series of comic book based movies ever made IMO.

I'm interested to hear opinions from others who saw the movie.

I loved the movie and thought it was a perfect ending. My least favorite part was when Marion Cotillard died. It was so bad that I actually laughed!
Anne Hathaway in a catsuit... gave me a wowsers in my trousers.

It was pretty slick how he brought it all back to the League of Shadows. My favorite parts were probably just how brutal and well executed the fight scenes between Batman and Bane were.

Re: ***SPOILERS* The Dark Knight Rises discussion thread *SPOILERS***

I personally loved the movie. I thought everything was brought together so well. Unfortunately for me, my mind thinks too much during these types of movies, so I figured out that Miranda was the real "bad guy" behind everything (even whispered it to the person who went with me). She was like "nooo wayyy that doesn't make sense", then obviously it did. Ha.

I'm glad they kept Bruce in the jail and failed more than once to get out. It would have been unbelievable otherwise.

It was fun seeing Anne Hathaway play such a rebel character as well. And she looked damn good doing it.

It was a great conclusion to the series... very enjoyable movies. and I honestly hope they come out with a Robin or Catwoman movie. 1. because I love Joseph Gordon-Levitt, 2. because they need at least 1 good catwoman movie and 3. MOAR COMIC BOOK MOVIES WIN.

That is all.

Re: ***SPOILERS* The Dark Knight Rises discussion thread *SPOILERS***

I thought the ending was perfect. Very tastefully done. I knew Batman had to die; Bruce Wayne I wasn't so sure about. I saw it in IMAX and the landscape scenes were beautifully done (overall, Nolan has a great cinematographic style), but there was too much noticeable contrast between what was IMAX and what very obviously wasn't. The difference was crazy. Other than the picture gripes and a few pretty minor holes, I liked quite a bit. Almost more than Dark Knight. This was very clearly its own film, whereas the other seemed to me to be two stuffed into one which made parts of it drag. At nearly three hours long it very well could have dragged, but I was more impressed with the pacing and editing this go round. I was never bored.

Some of those are pretty good, but that list is way too fucking long. 15-20 max would have sufficed.

If you have time to kill and want to hear some full-on geek bat ramblings I highly recommend you check this out. I believe ep 8 is about TDKR.

Re: ***SPOILERS* The Dark Knight Rises discussion thread *SPOILERS***

I watched it and absolutely loved it. I was initially concerned about the length of the movie. However, as long as it was, it was entertaining throughout.

But, what the hell is up with Christopher Nolan and making his characters inaudible?!

It's bad enough that the only way I could understand Batman was by interpreting what the cast is saying back to him, but now T-Pain, I mean they autotuned Tom Hardy's voice for Bane.

There were so many scenes where I was like: "What the hell did Bane just say?"

Although I LOVED Bane as a villain. In the previous movies, as soon as the Batman shows up, then all will be right. But not this time, if the Batman shows up, he's going to get his ass whooped!

Oh and definitely one of the best ending ever.

Re: ***SPOILERS* The Dark Knight Rises discussion thread *SPOILERS***

Haha! I totally loved Bane's voice. Much like the Joker's in the last film it was completely unexpected. If you listen to the Kevin Smith discussion about the movie he talks a lot about it and articulates why it was great. I didn't have any trouble understanding him. The volume at the real IMAX theaters is always cranked to 11.

I didn't have a problem with his voice either. I understood both perfectly fine, but I also saw it on IMAX. Phil what did you think of the picture bouncing back and forth from IMAX to standard? It wasn't quite as seamless as Prometheus imo.
