Dealership Loyalty

Any of you loyal to a dealership?
My parents and now my family have been going to this dealership for years, and we have gotten every car from them. They have great customer service and are willing to help out in any way. They have been great to me and my family.
I love the Ford brand and also the dealership. Now on to why I brought this up.
Both my wife's car and my car were badly damaged in the hail storm a couple months back and had very expensive repairs.
They recommended us well at least my wife to trade hers in due to the damage and how long the repair would be. Literally swap out cars, and that's fine by me because she wants an escape. Me on the other hand (I'm getting my car looked at today for damage) love the Ford brand but I already have a Fusion and I had a Fusion before that too. I just don't know if having 3 different Fusions in within the last 2 years is what I want. I have my eye set on another car that I have been watching for awhile now, but its not with Ford. Its a 09+ Subaru Forester XT, I don't want to stray from this dealership but this is the car that would truly make me happy with a car.
I know, I know... This is very long and boring for some of you and most of you wont read it (I know who you are )
But I just wanted to see what peoples opinions are on this. If you could offer advice I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

-Steven

Re: Dealership Loyalty

The area Subaru dealerships are top notch, too. I bet you can find a CPO one at Subie of Plano or Sewell.

While I am loyal to good dealerships if they have the car I want, I won't buy a car that's not top on my list just to deal with a certain retailer. You spend 4 hours buying the car compared to how many owning/driving it?

Re: Dealership Loyalty

I guess what my fear is, is that if I get a Subaru I will be going to Subaru. Not to Ford.
I enjoy everyone at that dealership and I don't want to lose my connections.

Probably?

I guess it comes down to the utility of your "connections" if the only way you use them is driving a car you really don't want. Doesn't seem like a fair trade to me. Although, I'm having to bite my tongue on the FXT. Have you driven one? They're really not fast since they're saddled with that old POS 4 speed auto, get awful gas mileage and rattle more than a Pinto. I dislike Subaru, but I really hate the Forester. For what you pay, you get squat except good AWD.

I drove one and it was nice, it was a hell of a lot faster than my Fusion. I guess the one I drove was nice, it didnt rattle.
Yea thats what I dont like... The 4 spd thats my main hesitation...

Re: Dealership Loyalty

I used to be a Ford freak as well. No idea why though. When looking @ escapes for my wife we ended up w/ a Rav 4 which was superior. I test drove the GTI and it was sold right away. Ford makes nothing that compares to it so Ford didn't get my business. Maybe one day they will again but they have to earn it. No reason to be loyal to any company..they just want your money. They aren't hurt or insulted by your decision to go Subaru.

Re: Dealership Loyalty

I had one FXT and one base Forester as loaners. Both had under 100 miles on them when I picked them up, and both rattled horribly over railroad tracks or washboard roads.

That's all I'll say about that, though. We all have different tastes (mine especially, LOL).
