Considering moving to Tampa, FL

Like the title says, thinking of moving from Dallas, TX to Tampa, FL. I wanted to see if anyone that lives there, or in that area has some insights that I should consider. From what I've seen so far it looks fairly clean and housing cost is on par with Dallas according to Zillow. Anything else like crazy registration fees, taxes, insurance due to hurricanes, or any other random stuff that would be good to know?

You can go to Tropicana Field and cheer on the Sox just like everyone else there

I'll stick with the Rangers thanks. Although, I have liked the Buccaneers since they heydays of Sapp and Lynch.

The Bucs are giving us much to root for. We have a good Baseball team and a competitive Hockey venue. Best beaches and Bikini's all year long!! Cost of living is what it is. 100's of golf courses within less than an hour drive. I work at the Ford and Mazda dealership across the Bay in Clearwater. Look me up when you get here. What kind of work you coming for?

I work for BoA corporate. Do you golf? If so, what are green fees like out there? Also, I'm married...I can only peek at bikinis. I lived in Cali when I was younger. Pretty excited at the prospect of getting close to a beach again.

Re: Considering moving to Tamps, FL

Golf prices are based on two seasons. Summer (cheapest) and winter. Winter is higher priced for the snowbirds. Public courses in the summer - $20's and semi private clubs in the $30 - $80. range. But, during season....public courses as much as $50's and nicer courses up to the $65. - $150. Must play's, Innis Brook/Copper Head, World Woods/ both the Pine Barren and Rolling Oaks. God they are unlimited. Yes, can you tell I love golfing.
