Weight Lifting Thread

So I am bored at work and was wondering if anyone on here weight lifts. Decided to make a new thread about it. I know there is another bodybuilding thread on here, but its old and I decided instead of reviving a dead thread, I would just start a new one. So if anyone lifts, what do yous take (supplement wise), whats your diet consist of, what is your routine, how much do you lift. Anything you want to talk about that deals with lifting, do it here! Maybe we can even motivate some other people to start lifting!

Re: Weight Lifting Thread

Nothing serious here just getting back in shape. I'm starting the police academy in a few months and I gotta be ready. No supplements or anything just starting to eat a little healthier.

Re: Weight Lifting Thread

I have a morning routine when I get home from work. Push ups, dumbbell curls, squats, upright rows and situps. repeat either 2 or 3 times.

Nothing fancy as most of my activity during the summer keeps me in shape. I'm also not about getting huge, just like staying somewhat fit.

Re: Weight Lifting Thread

I was really into it last summer and school term, then gave up when I started working 40 hours a week. I just started going back last week though. I usually do best when I work out 6 days a week. I alternate from chest, back, and legs every 3 days.

I have no Fusion. I have a Miata.

I need a new sig.

Re: Weight Lifting Thread

I lift monday through friday. Monday I do chest, tuesday I do back and bis, wednesday I do shoulders and tris, thursday I do a superset for every group and friday I do legs and ab toning. Monday and wednesday I finish both days with ab strengthening and tuesday and thursday I finish with some forearms. Right now I lift more for strength and size since it is the winter (bulking period) so I do about 4 sets of 10 to 4 reps (10, 8, 6, 4) and increase weight each set. Pretty soon (beginning of April) I will change it up a bit to tone up for the summer. I will do 3 sets of 15 to 10 reps (15, 12, 10) of lighter weight.
I take a multi-vitamin and a Super AKG pill (precursor to NO) every morning when I wake up. Thirty mins before two main meals I take a Tonalin CLA (helps the body break up fat deposits easier to burn fat off easier). With lunch I also take a fish oil pill. With dinner I also take my second AKG and then my third before bed.
Right now I am cycling off of a pre-workout but in the past I have taken NO Explode, Jack3d, Cellucor C4, Assualt, Creatine Hydrochloride (no muscle bloating or water retention like monohydrate) and 1MR. My favorite was definitely C4.
While lifting I drink about 2-3 bottles of water and try to keep my workouts no longer than an hour and a half.
After lifting I take two scoops of Myofusion or Sytha6 (depends which one I bought) and then another before bed.

I started lifting in November of 2010 (so about a year and 4 months). In that time I have put on about 15 pounds of lean muscle as well as lost the bit of fat that running for soccer and track my whole life didn't touch. Now when I say I do all this, I must also say that I am not perfect. Some days I forget supplements, a few days here or there I can't lift due to whatever reason. All in all I try to follow this schedule and It seems to be working!

Re: Weight Lifting Thread

Just got back from 30 minutes of frisbee, and an hour and a half of workout. I worked on chest and arms mainly, then hit the steam room for 10 minutes. I need to find a good protein powder that mixes well with water. Here at the dorms, it's hard to keep good nutrition!

I have no Fusion. I have a Miata.

I need a new sig.

If you're doing a superset on Thursday are you giving certain muscle groups enough time to even rest? Personally I like to give muscle groups at least two days off by performing two muscle groups per workout. I.e. Sunday and Wednesdays I do chest/triceps, Mondays and Thursdays I do Shoulders/Bicep. After awhile I will switch it up and do chest/shoulders on the same day then do biceps/triceps the same day as well. If I feel like I'm at a plateau I'll do an entire week or two of supersets.

February of 2010 I started that workout while eating well and taking a multivitamin, pre-workout, and whey protein. After 5-6 months I went from 149 lbs starting up to 170 lbs. Throughout that time I added a few more vitamins (fish oil) and went on/off the preworkout every 1-2 months. Every one is different but I got very good results from that workout plan.

Re: Weight Lifting Thread

I started with Strong lifts (awesome beginner program) like a year and half ago and went from there. I do MMA and have my own strength and conditioning coach now and love it, do a lot of prowler runs, rope work, kettlebells, etc. I went from 145 lbs to 185 and I'm at about ~13% bodyfat currently.

Is anyone on fitocracy?
