I hate my damn job / Damn son, you work in the ghetto

Rant mode....engaged.

I guess I should start from the beginning. First off, I never work Saturdays, ever. Working on Saturdays interferes with watching NASCAR, drinking beer, or shooting random things with guns. However, I had to take two days off work this week to have my AC / furnace replaced in my house for the second time this year, that's an entirely different rant BTW. Anyways, because I took those two days off I needed to work today to make up some time. I'm required to work a certain amount of hours a week, and I didn't want to burn any vacation time since I'm going on vacation for 11 days in less than a month. So that's the first part of the rant.

The second part starts with one of my drivers, she is unable to make deliveries to one of my accounts due to the fact that she was sexually harassed by one of the employees at that location. She happened to be the only person I had available at that time that is able to drive one of the company vehicles. Me being in charge, it was my responsibility to make the delivery. Ok fine, however, I'm not certified to drive the company vehicles either at this moment in time either. They frown upon moving violations for whatever reason. So into my own personal car. Whatever, I'll get to listen to tunes and be comfortable in a car that doesn't smell like bigfoots dick.

I get about halfway to the account, and get stuck at a red light. Off in the distance I hear sirens fast approaching, I'm on the lookout trying to see where they are coming from. I see two crown vics HAULING ASS coming from my left, they stop in the middle of the intersection, but I still hear more sirens coming. All of a sudden a BRAND NEW bright orange Dodge Challenger comes roaring down the sidewalk to my right, cuts thru a parking lot, runs over like 4 curbs, and hits the middle of the intersection . Right behind him are 4 or 5 other police cruisers from 2 different jurisdictions. Tyrone T. Thugsimus behind the Challenger does like 4 circles in the middle of the intersection almost hitting me in the process and takes off going the same direction I'm heading, probably doing every bit of 100mph. I think to myself "Huh, don't see this everyday....but I do work in the ghetto, bound to happen sooner or later." I continue on the way to the delivery, looking for a crashed Challenger, damn, no luck. Get back to work, and I don't even make it 2 hours before something else TOPS that.

I'm counting down a few cash registers getting ready to go home when one of my employee's asks me to come up front. There's a lady there that said she had a bullet hole in her windshield and asked if there's anyway of fixing it. I told her a new windshield was the only way to go. She didn't like that response, she wanted to put tape on it, after I spent 5 minutes telling her tape wouldn't work, nor would her vehicle ever pass safety inspection she said "OK, thank you." Right when I thought she was going to leave she asked that while she was there, if I could check a couple of her fuses, because her headlights, windshield wipers, and radio all stopped working at the same time. I told her that it's highly unlikely that it's going to be fuses if they all stopped working at the same time, but I'd look anyways. She popped the hood, and while I was pulling the cover off the fuse box I noticed the body control module on her caravan had a pretty nice sized dent on it. I looked closer at it, "Shit, that looks a lot like a bullet." I look down and sure enough, I see a bullet laying right down in front of it. Somehow, a bullet managed to fit in between the gap in the hood and grille without damaging anything else besides the body control module.

And people don't believe me when I say I work in the ghetto.

Dude, please don't, my tool aisle is so fucked it isn't even funny. I scanned outs today on it and took a $1,200 hit. Speaking of ATI's though, are you having problems with them too? Cause I didn't get an ATI for my last truck, which was approx. 3,600 pieces, so my inventory is completely screwed. And master PDQ is effing taking 2 weeks to ship stuff versus 1 day like normal. Between that crap and the core banking being screwed up on a few accounts, and HSBC FAILING AT LIFE, my job is a LOT of fun right now.

I dont know what state your in but i visited dc30 yesterday in pa. They have a 5% acceptable margin rate. That equals to about 8 million dollars. That should explain pdq issues. My autocraft shit is all missing and they wont replenish. I dont even put gearwrench out..its all. In totes in the back. My commercial traction did go up from a 0 to a 25 though!

Re: I hate my damn job / Damn son, you work in the ghetto

I'm sitting at a 84 commercial traction, 74 DIY though. Still a top performer though....even though my last bonus was $36. Woo big money.

Supposedly my district has the most top performers and the most brand busters. Go figure. Our acting DM was in the store yesterday and asked what was the number one thing I could do to control shrink, I told him, zip tie all the dykes up on the rack, he asked why. I told him "Uhhh....cause they use the dykes to cut down everything else that is tied down / secured on the magnetic peg hooks".

My one before last was $2,700. Problem is the shops near me go thru people faster than I change undewear, as soon as I get in good with them, they have someone else new that doesn't want to deal with me.

For example, one of my main accounts had something like 20 employees, they only have 2 left from April, everyone else quit.

You know you work in the ghetto when detectives and a First 48 production team are having a stake out in front of your office building.
