Cancelling the Evo, say it ain't so!!!!!!

Quote:
According to Gayu Eusegi, head of global product development for Mitsubishi, the Lancer Evolution X will be the last Evo the Japanese automaker ever builds. Eusegi says the move is part of a shift in strategy to put the company's product focus and ethos on leadership in EV technology.

I personally think its a good idea.

They have one of if not the worst US line up (outside of Suzuki) which needs a severe overhaul. The Outlanders are okay for what they are but the Galant, Lancer, Eclipse and Endeavor are in serious need of the R&D assistance Mitsu has been giving the Evo.

I say, get your line up right, then focus on a halo car to keep them coming in the door.

The worst thing to happen to Mitsu since killing the DSMs and turning the eclipse into a .... whatever the hell it is now.

Edit...I agree that they need to revamp their lineup, but getting rid of the Evo is the equivalent of GM axing the Camaro.

They just need to go out of business entirely. They can't build a single car worth a crap. They are the most unreliable cars on the road.

Re: Cancelling the Evo, say it ain't so!!!!!!

The Evo is a fucking legend. Not to mention it beat the suby in every category when they were tested so the suby is a piece a piece of shit? I actually think they're starting to turn their shit around. The Lancer is actually presentable along with the Outlander models they have out. I agree the eclipse needs a make over as does the galant but dropping their flagship car would be a disaster IMO.

Re: Cancelling the Evo, say it ain't so!!!!!!

They aren't easy to find IMO. Even when I was between dealerships I actually saw an evo X offered for sale at a honda dealership and with a busted front lip and 30k + miles it was in the $30K or so. They're honestly one of those cars I want to own when I'm out of school.

Re: Cancelling the Evo, say it ain't so!!!!!!

Bleh, could really care less about the EVO, but can see why it has a passionate following. FWIW, I still regret getting my Outback instead of the Ralliart Lancer Sportback

The stupid, worthless automated manual just killed it for me, though.
