Refinancing a brand new loan

Two days after I bought my Mz3 I got offered a better deal through another bank and started the refinancing process. Today I got a notification from the original bank thanking me for my business and stating that the loan is now closed. I also got an over payment refund check.... bonus.

Has anyone ever done this before? Does the dealer still get their commission for selling the loan eventhough the bank made literally nothing on it?

Done this several times when rebates were tied to using captive finance companies.

Re: Refinancing a brand new loan

Ditto, bought on employee pricing with $1000 finance credit and $1000 costco credit at 7% then turned around after the first payment and payed off the Ford credit loan with my 3% line of credit

buying a car at employee price with a 7% loan is basically the same as buying at regular price with 0%
