Gotta love the Spinal Tap references :P But the voting goes through the end of December. As of now I'm in first place with 16% of the total votes. Keep on spreading the word.

"That's my little Auto Technique volt meter. So when the bass it bumpin' it goes down and up and all sorts of things"

...

You're voltage should remain constant at all times - if its not you need electrical upgrades. Also, the T1000 is stable to 1 ohm, not 2. If you have it wired at 2 ohms you're probably only making maybe 600w of power - not 1300 lol.

At the end of the day though, you still have a very clean install and lots of good equipment.

Thanks for the vote :P I'm for sure that my amp is putting out 1370 watts because it's the constant power series amps from rockford. It's kind of like how Alpine can put out 1200 watts to a 2 or 4 ohm load. It's the same thing just with a 1 or 2 ohm load. Actually I think it's just because they put a 1000.1 label on the box meaning that they can call it "constant power". Sure enough I'm putting out over 1000 watts rms either way.

I'd like to say something about my power system. But, power drain is just what's expected. When I'm not being stupid with my bass, so more sound quality, the voltage stays at 14.2v ish. But when it's to show off to someone the drain can take it all the way to 12.9 sometimes. I'm still planning on getting a HO alternator, but that's in the future sometime, for now my extra batteries will work just fine :P

Re: Rockford Fosgate What's Your Volume Contest 2.0

No, you're amp is only rated to 1000w @ 1 ohm. Not @ 2 ohms. It's not internally regulated the way the Alpine PDX digital series are.

Therefore, when you double the resistance you cut the power in half. And with voltage drops you're still looking at only 600w.

Re: Rockford Fosgate What's Your Volume Contest 2.0

I'm sorry, check the specs, because it's rated at 1000w rms, it's really putting out 1430w rms at 1 ohm. 1370w rms at 2 ohms, then it drops down to 813w rms at 4 ohms. Granted this is if I had a perfect power supply always putting out 14.4 volts. These ratings are from the birth certificate that rockford gives to you with the amplifier. You can't always expect only 1000w watts out of an amp unless it's a cheap amplifier that rounds up to the next largest number. Companies like, JL, Alpine, Boston Acoustic and Rockford Fosgate all under rate their amps so that the number that's on the box is true to what it says and then some.

If you did check your references then check the right one, I'm running a power series amplifier, not the rockford fosgate punch series. The punch series does not have the constant power tech, but the power series does.

Sorry, I'm not trying to sound like an arrogant jerk or anything, but I know your wrong in what your saying and I'm just backing up my statements.

Please check your own references before you try to correct something.

how about the references from Rockford Fosgate themselves? I hope thats good enough for you.

Learn to understand how electronics work before trying to correct someone who is just trying to give you a little insight to your system if you are going to be putting it on display and entering it into competition.

Rated Power (RMS Continuous Power)
500 Watts x 1 @ 4-Ohms
750 Watts x 1 @ 2-Ohms
1000 Watts x 1 @ 1-Ohm

So tell me again, how you think you're getting over 1000w at 2 ohms of power. You can believe whatever you want from the birth sheet, those are optimum conditions and not real word clamped power ratings. The simple fact is, that in real-world settings (not some lab test where the amp is fed a sine wave with a strict 4 ohm resistor and constant 14.4v of power), the amp is probably putting out close to say 800w at most.

I am not trying to school you here, as I am a total fan of the Rockford line. Always have liked their products, in fact, the old T2000 was one of my amp options in building my system but since it was no longer made, and the T2500 was brand new at the time and too much money, i opted for the Kicker.

I just figure if you're going to be telling people about your system, you may as well give them at least the proper information. In the video you made a claim to having 1300w of power, which is simply not true.

Again, good luck with the competition.

Re: Rockford Fosgate What's Your Volume Contest 2.0

Okay since we're talking about 2 completely different amps here...your talking about the previous generations.
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...&p_status=

That's the link to the lastest power series, I know that the birth certificate is under a constant 14.4v. But, I'm glad to hear that we're both so interested in car audio. If you have any pics I'd like to see your system, or systems from the past.

Believe me when I say I know quite a bit about electronics and how they work, it helps being an electrical engineer student.

No hard feelings :P
