Stig Costume

So I've been trying to piece together a Stig costume (from Top Gear) for awhile now, and unfortunately I haven't been able to find a way to replicate the suit/helmet combo for less than $600.

Anyone have any ideas? It's basically just a white racing suit with a white helmet. Here's a good picture of what I'm looking for:

Re: Stig Costume

How about you pick a different costume?

I. Ben Collins ruined the stig by revealing himself as the stig.

2nd, most people will think you're just a racecar driver.

C - The people that do recognize you as the stig will be males. You don't want guys hitting on you right?

4 - You'll be uncomfortably hot.

V. You wont be able to talk (gotta stay in character) or imbibe spirits.

Edit... FYI - It's not a terrible idea for a costume, I'm just giving you a hard time.

In response to item C above: On the other hand, any females that DO recognize your outfit will automatically jump up a point.

Re: Stig Costume

Above all else the cost of the costume would outweigh any of the benefits. It'd be a cool idea if the stig concept wasn't ruined though. Go as hamster..he's funnier anyway.

Re: Stig Costume

Better yet, since you're from the South, go as Big Stig--The Stig's American cousin.

Re: Stig Costume

The Simpson Diamondback helmet, alone, retails for $569.95. The Alpinestars suit and Puma boots look to be custom-colors since I can't find an all-white suit and all-white boot on their websites. Hope you got a BBC-sized budget!

I never forget a face, but for you, I'll make an exception!

Re: Stig Costume

I've thought about it, but can't justify the price of a suit. I wouldn't use it often enough.

Re: Stig Costume

I did some more thinking on this and just can't come up with a validation for the cost... So yeah, as much as I'd love to go as Big Stig or simply Stig, it probably won't be happening... at least this year.
