Dealer parts guys

Can anyone give me an idea of what a parts guy @ a reputable dealer would make?

Re: Dealer parts guys

I have no idea, but if you could be any less incompetent than the idiots at my dealership, I'd love for you to come work up here.

Define "parts guy"? Department manager or customer service only?

Either way, I doubt it's really a truly livable wage.....

I'm actually amazing @ my job but we just got royally fucked by like 3 suppliers and I see bad things in the near future. I may have to jump ship.

Well, I don't think they'd hire me as a mananger until I've been there but I deal w/ some parts guy that work for ford and such now that have pretty nice houses. Don't forget..in NJ the pay is higher than most other places in the country.

Maybe so, but so is the COL. I'm sure it beats not having a job at all....

Not trying to discourage you, but it to me it kinda sounds like a dead end job. Plus, I think you're too smart to just be a "parts guy" at a stealership.

Re: Dealer parts guys

Around here, you'd probably be making $12 to 15 an hour. Which up there is probably $18 to 22 an hour.

Re: Dealer parts guys

Ya right, $15/hr for a parts guy? You'd be DAMNNN lucky. My guess is around or < $12/hr even in NJ.
