I had to get my bumper repainted on my 2010 sport, sport blue metallic, The body shop I took it to has a great rep (hence the reason I took it to them) but they seem to have forgot how to paint a car.. My bumper while it does "match" the flip on it doesn't.. maybe to much of something in the paint. Anyway, they have to wet sand and buff it out because i found some dust in the paint and the owner told me once that is done, it should help calm the flip down a little.. is it true?
Yes and no. It will help but it will not fix it. It sounds as if it were sprayed at the wrong air pressure. Body shops can easily match paint by the code. They do not know however what pressure the factory paint was sprayed. They should have done several test swatches in order to get the flake to "lay" correctly.
