Re: Blackberry Bold 9700 or HTC Tilt 2
I have the Bold and I really like it. I had a few issues with my first one and its replacements having quality issues, but that was AT&T's fault as they don't examine their refurbished devices nearly well enough. My current 9700 is a great phone. It gets good signal, has Wi-Fi, has enough apps to keep one from getting bored, and has a very comfortable keyboard to type on. Plus, the camera is really nice for a 3.2 megapixel phone unit.
Oh, and unlike the iPhone, the 9700 is totally customizable/hackable right out of the box. You just have to know what you're doing. I'm running an OS version from a software company in the middle east, because it has the least amount of glitches. There's also countless apps to download, and they all work - even if they aren't featured in the BlackBerry's own "app world." Usually if a BlackBerry has a software problem, a simple OS (operating system) upgrade or reinstall will fix everything.
However...the BlackBerry Bold "9780" will be released eventually (before the end of the year, I'd say) and it will have the 512 mb of memory needed to run OS 6, as well as a 5 megapixel camera. Otherwise, it's the same as the 9700. If you can wait, I'd wait for the 9780.
The Tilt 2 Windows Mobile. Run away, run aaawwwaaay. I've had so many bad experiences with Windows Mobile.
