Blackberry Bold 9700 or HTC Tilt 2

I need to choose between the two and I can't make up my mind. My work is upgrading me so it will be used for email, internet, and etc.

Thanks,

Being a Blackberry guy, my opinion will be swayed to the 9700.

Re: Blackberry Bold 9700 or HTC Tilt 2

Cuz I'm on my second HTC phone, and aside from the battery they have/do worked phenomenally in all aspects. Great phone, great PDA, great web browser, they are the total package and they come with TONS of free games to kill time. I did love my BB pearl but its quality and durability was sub par.

Re: Blackberry Bold 9700 or HTC Tilt 2

I was at a store yesterday and the tilt was kinda bulky and heavy compared to the Bold.

Re: Blackberry Bold 9700 or HTC Tilt 2

I have the Bold and I really like it. I had a few issues with my first one and its replacements having quality issues, but that was AT&T's fault as they don't examine their refurbished devices nearly well enough. My current 9700 is a great phone. It gets good signal, has Wi-Fi, has enough apps to keep one from getting bored, and has a very comfortable keyboard to type on. Plus, the camera is really nice for a 3.2 megapixel phone unit.

Oh, and unlike the iPhone, the 9700 is totally customizable/hackable right out of the box. You just have to know what you're doing. I'm running an OS version from a software company in the middle east, because it has the least amount of glitches. There's also countless apps to download, and they all work - even if they aren't featured in the BlackBerry's own "app world." Usually if a BlackBerry has a software problem, a simple OS (operating system) upgrade or reinstall will fix everything.

However...the BlackBerry Bold "9780" will be released eventually (before the end of the year, I'd say) and it will have the 512 mb of memory needed to run OS 6, as well as a 5 megapixel camera. Otherwise, it's the same as the 9700. If you can wait, I'd wait for the 9780.

The Tilt 2 Windows Mobile. Run away, run aaawwwaaay. I've had so many bad experiences with Windows Mobile.

Re: Blackberry Bold 9700 or HTC Tilt 2

I had the tilt 2 (touch pro 2 on VZW) it sucked. The processor is not fast enough to keep up with the UI. It would lag something terrible, freeze all the time. Took forever to load web pages because Opera is slow as hell. It was an awesome phone other wise. The keyboard was perfect. Just the speed was what killed it for me.

I upgraded to the Droid X and will never look back.

If you have to choose between those 2 I'd go RIM even though I hate them.

Re: Blackberry Bold 9700 or HTC Tilt 2

Thanks both of you just the kind of feedback i was looking for.

I mean my work is giving me this phone so its mostly for work but used as personal phone as well. Sure it woucl be nice to be able to customize it all from I hear on the HTC but read so mixed reviews that I'm more likely to go with the BB I think.

If it was for me alone maybe I would take on the adventure of the windows mobile but sine I need the phone to be reliable you know.

Re: Blackberry Bold 9700 or HTC Tilt 2

When it comes to business use the blackberry 9700 is the way to go. That's what I use for my work phone and it works great. I can get my work e-mails, home emails, facebook, myspace, data transfer rates are great (depends on your carrier though.) full browsing with forefox, and it also gives you blackberry personnal assistance software to load programs, apps, movies and music. I actually rely on this thing a little too much and hopefully nothing ever goes wrong with it. it really doesn't matter though because my phone automatically backs up to the laptop when I plug it in to charge. I know I'm a poster child for the bb but it's worth the ridicule lol.
