Explain this to me

Quote:
Thieves Nab Purse From Gym Locker, Steal Car From Parking Lot

A Colorado Springs woman says her car was stolen from a gym parking lot. Police say they don't have the resources to investigate the crime, so she plans to try and solve her own crime.
The crooks took off with her 2005 Red GT Ford Mustang

24-Hour Fitness says an incident report was filled out and the police have been notified. Colorado Springs police say without a suspect description or any viable leads, they no longer investigate personal property crimes unless it's part of a pattern crime.

So you can steal a car, and as long as noone sees you do it, you're good to go?!? Please tell me I'm missing something and the police aren't going to just "pass" on this.................................

Must have "better" things to do. Like crimes involving death and handing out parking tickets.

Ya, thats it!

Re: Explain this to me

I was basically told the same thing when my car stereo was stolen a number of years ago. "Thanks for reporting, but we don't have the resources to actually attempt to investigate."

Yea that's BS.

I can't believe cops would even have the audacity to claim that shit. Makes me so angry.

Re: Explain this to me

Why waste money fighting real crimes when you can incarcerate minor drug offenders?

Re: Explain this to me

Yeah, I've never had any sort of investigation done any time I've had anything stolen.. they just take a report incase someone ends up being found with whatever it is later on down the road. :/
