does someone work for a marina or has bought a boat?

who can check a vin for me? the title looks clean however under the lien section it says "caution boat may be subject to other filed liens" i have never seen a note like this befor on a presumably clean title????

its all legit other than that. name house address titled in the owners name etc no bank liens. just worried about buying the boat.

I can run the VIN for ya. Not sure what I'm going to get back on it though, as we rarely use the boat vin feature here. I don't go back to work until tuesday night though. So if you can wait that long I wouldn't mind.

I mean no hard feelings for what I post on this website. Anything I type/write/post/say on this forum is only that of general debate and discussion. I am not biased toward anyone or anything. I've been around boats my whole life. Where's the boat at? I'm like 2 mins from Pt Pleasant so I'd be happy to check it out for ya if it's in the area.

Thanks I just dont want to dive into a headache for me more or less buying a jetboat hull/trailer for $500. I have the title in hand, here are the numbers.

prefix: 2
id number: SERR2 996A4 94
suffix: Z
year:1994
make: searay
gvw/lgth: 13
control number:AA467489

when ever you can get it to me would be appreciated. last thing I need is 3k in marina fees going with the title. As I read it with research is marinas can tack on a lien to a boat if you dont pay them.

thanks for the offer its actually about 2 miles from my moms house (northern nj) so we are good. (you can check it out with a beer in your hand this summer) I have already looked over the boat. It has a bad power head so I have to rebuild it. The guy seemed legit and all I just dont like that note at the bottom and don't know if thats just typical legal jargon on a nj title. The guy was the second owner and has owned it for only 2 seasons. He cant figure out the power head issue he already rebuilt it once but it ate #3 cylnder again.

I tried running the Boat Hull Number. Its not coming back to anything. Although it does appear to be a valid and legit BHN.

Sorry.

its all good thanks for looking for me I also called around to some local marinas that all told me it is a disclaimer that they put on all second hand titles. (as in 2nd/3rd/4th owners etc) As in the bank cleared the original title for initial purchase and the boat may have incured leans on it as repairs marina fees etc. They suggested running the bhn like you did. thats all they would say. Since you said it came back sorta clean and the dmv here said its ok if it has that they will transfer it. One suggestion they did say have the bill of sale state that the owner is responsible for any outstanding leins at time of purchase. I dont know how legal that is :P thanks again
