Re: Scanner help

I'm confused. If it has to be filled out on the computer, why do you even have to scan it?

Re: Scanner help

Because it has to filled out using a program like MS word (preferably word). The form has to be in a "computer format".

Re: Scanner help

Much like the Chewbacca Defense, that does not make sense.

In any event, if your scanner can create a pdf file I'd say that's the way to go. I'd be surprised if it would let you edit fields and type in text though.

Re: Scanner help

Instead of scanning a physical copy of the form and trying to figure out a way to edit it, just find an existing electronic copy of the form at the college's website. That's probably a lot easier in the long run, since it's already designed to be filled out on the computer, unlike a physically scanned copy.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense at all. If it needs to be filled out electronically, the form should already be available in electronic format.

If your scanner came with any OCR software, you might be in luck. Either that or save it as a PDF and add text fields where needed.

Re: Scanner help

Acrobat pro can scan a document and you can specify fields on the form which will then allow you to enter in text.

I would have scanned it, opened it in paint, and put a bunch of random text fields that lined up
