Whats a Fair Price

Thinking about selling my mazda 3. Whats a fair asking price. Looking to sell it private party. Kbb says in excellent condition with 34K miles 14,700$

My car is a 2008 Mazda 3s Touring
5spd
New Transmission
Clutchmasters Stage II Kevlar Clutch
New MS3 Axle
Polyurethane bushings throughout entire chasis
H&R sways
Mazdaspeed 3 Coils
Brand New Brakes (Pads, Lines) And resurfaced rotors Front & Rear
18in wheels
SPC camber links
13% window tint
and a few other engine/tranny mods

I know you cant get your money back for mods spent on a car and usually takes away from the value of a car but...lets say someone were interested in buying the car with mods because its something they were interested in if I could even get a 1/3 of what i spent id be happy.

Just curious about what everyone thinks is a fair starting asking point.

Re: Whats a Fair Price

How much do you want to sell the car for? Ask a G over that, let it be known your price has some flexibility. And let them do the haggling.

Re: Whats a Fair Price

Check Edmunds' TMV as well. I'd say $16k would be a fair price on a 2008 sedan. Why the new axle, transmission, and new brakes at only 34k miles?

Re: Whats a Fair Price

You'll make more by parting out the aftermarket parts and then selling the car in stock form.

I agree with 3driverPA. Ask more than you want, so they feel like they're getting a good deal when they haggle it down a bit

Re: Whats a Fair Price

2nd gear syncro shot after a clutch went bad i fried the freakin gear, so re did the tranny. brakes because they started squeaking and wanted a better performing brake.

I planned on uping the price and allowing some room for negotiation.

and third i would love to part it out. but that would require me buying most of the stock parts back again. so when you factor that in with all the time it would take to tear apart the car the money i would get back is not even close to worth it. the only parts that could even be sold for anything would be the sway bars the camber links and the coilovers. the rims i would loose money on because they need to be repainted. cant sell the tranny the clutch the bushings ect. so to me it just doesnt seem worth all the trouble for an extra grand.
