Sad day

Well... the bike is officially winterized and put away. I only got it 2 weeks ago, and now it's got a cover, sitting in the garage with no battery, and no plates... just some good ol fashioned storage insurance. I can hear it crying and begging to be taken for one last ride.

As much as I love my 3 it just isn't the same... it doesn't have the same fun factor as the bike.

I winterized my pedal bike over a month ago... 2 weeks ago I winterized my bike and put it in storage... then bought a new one... and now that too has been winterized and put in storage. Now I have 2 bikes in storage and a 3 that runs like a champ.

Like I said before... I'm not sure if I want to be a rider. If I ever do decide to do it, I will be starting small! lol

My dad never puts his bikes away. He races year round all over south east. He's going to FL for a week in november and taking his bikes with him! he's super excited!

He didn't get to ride much this summer because of work! Stupid work.

Honestly, I was contemplating a speed 3 about a year ago and I'm really glad I didn't. After having my bike I don't think a speed 3 would be fast enough. If I work out the power of my bike vs a 3000lb car I would need almost 755hp to reach the same power/weight ratio. Over the summer my 3 sits in a garage for majority of the time unless I'm going on a long highway trip, need groceries, or just want to charge the battery.

I plan on picking up a trickle charger. Should only be $30 or $40 and I currently have two batteries that need charging.

PS what kinda bike do you ride?

Arrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhh!!!!!! I'm jealous. Up here it's way too cold and slippery to do that. I wish I lived somewhere warmer.

LOL yeah... it gets cold here too, but since he travels south so much, he just takes his bikes with him!!

My dad has 2 bikes. He's got a CBR600 and a CBR1000. He races the 600 while the 1000 is his street bike. He used to have a Suzuki SV650, but he sold it to my uncle, then my uncle sold it to some stranger! Grrr I was mad about that because when my dad crashed it, he got a custom paint job and all this awesome stuff. It was an awesome bike... could have been MY first bike. BUT NOOOO.

Re: Sad day

well to me the speed 3 dumps all over my bike

i have an 08 kawasaki 250...its quick but not fast...i could probably out accelerate the speed but by 3rd gear it would be long gone...i bought it brand new last year...my first bike...i wrecked going 70 this season...they considered it totaled but i bought it back from them and repaired it myself (i basically payed 700 dollars for them to pay off my 1000 dollar loan haha)...i havent rode much since the accident...i wasnt severly hurt just some rash on my hands and knees ( i was in full gear thank god)...but it has been a little unnerving sometimes getting back on it...every little bump makes me tense up which is so different from how i was before...but ill get back to comfortable eventually...after the speed is payed off ill probably try for a zx6

crazyduckme:
That sounds like a good set up. I'm surprised he doesn't keep the CBR1000 as a track bike and the 600 as a street bike. The 1000 would be faster at high speeds. Depending on the track too. The track out here the fastest is actually a 125 since it corners the best.

I don't blame him for getting rid of the SV650 lol... then again I'm not a fan of Suzuki...

TRex:
Sorry to hear about your crash. But yeah a MS3 would take a Ninja 250. The Ninja 250 was actually on my list when I was buying at the beginning of the year. I ended up with a CBR125 because it was fuel injected. The new bike is an 03CBR600. Sorry to hear bout your crash though. Be glad you were wearing your gear. It could've been a lot worse. I'd be nerved about riding after something like that too.

Re: Sad day

LOL yeah... well he took the 1000 on the track once, but since the brakes suck (and aren't really "track ready", he crashed It flipped all over the grass and he had to rebuild the whole front end. It was crazy. He was doing 150mph when he crashed and he didn't have a scratch on him! Thank goodness for leathersuits!!!
