PC not detecting TV

I'm trying to connect my PC to a Samsung HD LCD TV through the motherboard's HDMI port and when i plug it in the PC doesn't detect the TV. It works fine when i connect it through the graphic card using DVI.. Anyone know why?

Re: PC not detecting TV

I have been away from pc stuff for a long time but. Is the hdmi port enabled in bios? Is that hdmi out or hdmi in? Might help to post the mobo part #.

You said you have a graphics card installed? So Im guessing the on board chip is disabled? If youve got a block of time to toy with it then try taking the graphics card out and going back to the on board chipset and see if it runs then

Re: PC not detecting TV

Using the onboard HDMI port entirely defeats the point of having a seperate graphics card. Odds are the card isn't disabled, but it's not being set as your default display. If you want to use this configuration (not sure why you would) you will have to go in to the display properties and enable the display hooked to your hdmi.

Like I said before... I'm not sure if I want to be a rider. If I ever do decide to do it, I will be starting small! lol
