To all that are married: Matching wedding bands?

So who here has matching wedding bands w/their significant other?

If so does it compliment the engagement ring (in your opinion)?

When I got married, my wife had an engraved white gold band, and I had a titanium band that looked completely different.

We had matching bands until she upgraded mine to a diamond band on our ten year aniversary. I never wear the ring though.

The fiance's and mine won't be matching. I'm looking into Tungsten or hammered white gold.

Re: To all that are married: Matching wedding bands?

That's the thing. My fiancee is old fashion.. she was raised that way. Her parents have matching rings.. but the thing is her father never wore his... except on anniversary's.

She was pretty floored when I told her I didn't like yellow gold and started looking at the titanium and tungsten rings. I bought her a very nice yellow gold engagement w/center channel mounted diamonds on either side, and there is also a complimentary wedding band that has a similar channel set diamond scheme that looks great! But she was pretty adamant about me looking at yellow gold rings to try and match.. Not going to work.. for 1 the bands we were looking at made her ring look like ass... and I didn't like the way it looked on my hand either.

I explained to her that it's going to be the only piece of jewelry that I'm going to buy/wear and I should be able to pick out what I want. Them not matching has nothing to do with the significance of our marriage... Would you rather have me look down at my wedding ring and think wow, I really wish I got another ring.. or would you like me looking down at the ring and thinking of you and our life together?

Sorry just had to vent...

Re: To all that are married: Matching wedding bands?

i don't care for my ring, nor does she.. we got it as a set back in 98 for $800. She wants a white gold or titanium and i'd like titanium..

i don't care for white gold as after a while it looks crappy (her cousin is manager of a Zales for years and told us to avoid them if we want them to look good for longterm.)

We were to have gotten new rings for our 10th but that didn't happen.

Ya I've heard white gold is a terrible product all around. Doesn't wear well at all. I have really been eying this ring online..
