SAW movie discussion

Since I'm a fan of the series, I decided to open up a discussion thread. The 6th installment comes out on October 23rd, and there's some serious speculation that Dr. Lawrence Gordon was an apprentice of John Kramer.

I watched some theories on YouTube behind the idea and I just don't know if I actually believe it. Out of all the theories I've seen, the only one that was believeable was if Dr. Gordon was truly the Jigsaw and he kidnapped John Kramer to play his game.

There's a lot of "proof," that once explained, any theory could make some sense. I definitely think the 4th and 5th installments weren't as good as I would like them to have been; however, this has been the only serious where I've watched each new movie in the theater.

I like the twist that the movies have and it really draws me into watching each new movie. I'm curious to see what roles Jill Kramer, Detective Tapp, and Dr. Gordon have played in the 5 movies up to this point. Jill was seen in 4 and 5, Dr. Gordon only in the 1st, and Detective Tapp (Danny Glover) was only in the first. I will say it makes sense of Dr. Gordon was an apprentice of John Kramer, due to the amount of medical equipment that was around the lair to keep Kramer alive; however, Jill used to work for a hospital facility as well.

Through out the movie it states that Kramer is not into killing his patients, but only testing them to where if they pass they survive. When Kramer found Cecil, the man that caused Kramer's wife to have a miscarriage, he set him up in his first trap. A chair that was knives in front of his face that moved outwards when you leaned your face into them. Cecil would have survived the test (most likely); however, the chair broke when he was about to finish the test. Kramer was standing in between Cecil and his barbed wire trap that was later seen in Paul's test. When Cecil charged at Kramer, Kramer sidestepped and let Cecil become in tangled in the wire. Kramer says that he doesn't warrant murder in his eyes; however, he inadvertently didn't help Cecil keep his, even though he didn't completely pass his test due to the test having errors. That makes me think that maybe John Kramer is a helper and his wife Jill or Dr. Gordon are the true masterminds behind the Jigsaw master.

There's been test that were setup that were unescapable too. We know Kerrie's test, the guy in the pendulum test, and the guy in the chain room were inescapable. It's theoried that Amanda set up these traps, because she felt that these people were going to fail anyways and testing them didn't matter.

She was tested and failed in the 3rd movie while Kramer was giving his thoughts on what had happened up to that point. It's also been rumored that Amanda will be in the 6th movie. If so, someone came in and saved her and nursed her back to health. Currently, the only two characters that would have an idea of what to do is Jill and Dr. Gordon.

I'm looking forward to a bit more light to be shined on this subject next month. There's plans for a 7th installment as well, so I hope that they don't let too much out in the 6th installment. The 7th installment is also going to be in 3D, so I wonder how well that will work out.

I'm probably the only one that is excited to see this, but it's fun to discuss what you think will happen. You never know someone could be on to something and be correct.

Re: SAW movie discussion

i thought the 1st one was amazing...i stopped watching them after the 4th...to me they were starting to become more about the shock factor than the story...shock factor is cool and all...but it gets old after a while...but your little right up on the story does make it more interesting

Re: SAW movie discussion

There's more story behind it. I only realized the story once I listened to videos on YouTube about who could be still alive. Also, the 6th movie is supposed to tie up some loose ends as well, which would be nice. John Kramer is officially out of the story, so there has to be a twist to continue the series. This is the twist that everyone is looking for, because in the 5th movie, the detectives were asking questions about how Amanda was able to lift Kerrie into her trap. Kerrie weighs 130 and Amanda weighed 108. It's possible, but not very likely in the situation by yourself. Also, females are weaker then males too.

Re: SAW movie discussion

The first 3 were great! There's no denying that. I thought the second one was weak, but 3 seemed to tie a lot of story together. New directors and writers came in for 4th and 5th. It's now a series that is planned to make a large sum of money. They just have to try and keep the story interesting. It's not very interesting with Hoffman, but there's been plenty of little hints that lead to a big twist coming through in the 6th movie. I'm ready to see what that twist is as well. The story started to unravel with the Detectives in the 4th or 5th movie. Whichever movie has the teacher and cheating husband held together with rods. I think it's in the 4th movie.

Re: SAW movie discussion

i have yet to see any of them. The most i saw was a clip of the first one, where a guy was about to get nails drilled into his temples.

I completely agree with mightyboosh. while i enjoyed 4 and 5 and will most likely see 6, I'm a hardcore believer in the fact that they should have stopped at #3. It simply feels like they are dragging the story on longer and finding any way possible to do it.

Re: SAW movie discussion

this is by far my favorite movie series and idk how or why people say they should have stopped! the mere fact that they must have had to write the 6 movies before they could even shoot the 1st one so they all make sense in the end is genius. Then when you see the next movie you get information you didn't even think about before. I think the creepy parts are awesome and creative and get stoked for the next ones to come out! although i heard most of the people signed a contract for only 6 movies so this might be it.
